Ology
I worked with the American Museum of Natural History in New York to create video segments with paleontologist Jonah Choiniere for their interactive childrens site Ology for the Living Large feature. It was such a fun day, I love being in museums when they are closed. We were able to get up close and personal with fossils when filming the segments that take place in the Big Bone Room (which is basically an archive of fossils not on display)! Visit the Ology site!

Working with MoMA’s Education Department and a terrific video production team called Plowshares Media, we’ve brought paintings to life on screen as I’ve never seen them before. The physical nuances of a painting—the texture at the end of a brushstroke, a transition from matte to glossy paint—are crucial to understanding how a painting is made and how it visually functions, and they are all captured here in full effect.

The Only Band In Town is a straightforward portrait of four casual bluegrass musicians in rural upstate New York. North Creek, NY has a population of 1,837 and only one band, the Don’t Quit Your Day Job Band, whose members include an old hippie, Melody, who moved to NYC during the Vietnam War with nothing but a bag of records and a guitar on her back, a small town old timer, Buckshot, who has spent his entire life in the same tiny community, Larry, a family man who seems to have forgotten about his family, and Stephanie, who is the band leader and transgendered father of three girls.
